The voices of truth were silenced again.

September 20th 2010

Faina Dorfman is a bereaved mother. She lost her young daughter, Jenya, in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Israel in June 2001. Today, over 9 years later we are witnessing another attack, this time on the biggest memorial website for the children of the Dolphinarium attack. This website was the most comprehensive and dedicated website launched in their memory years ago. It contained rich collection of poetry, drawings, pictures of the children and material and tributes created to honor their memory.

Faina told me about the moment she found out that the memorial site was attacked. "Today at 7 AM I received a phone call from Marina Skakian, mother of liana, saying that the Dolphinarium memorial website was hacked. When I saw the black skeleton and the title "this site was hacked", I felt both hopeless and upset that we are again dealing with ignorant fools who do not even begin to see the damage they are causing.

"We opened this website to let the world know about our suffering, about our children that were brutally murdered, she says. This was a very big website, not only about our children and their short lives but also to share the truth with the world about what was going on in Israel. This website is especially precious for me because of the amount of material, poems and stories shared about all the children, their talents and their drawings. "

I could hear Faina's hurt and outrage in her voice. " I thought how can anyone cause pain and suffering to someone that has suffered so much already. These young fascists have never seen wracked bodies after a suicide bombing and heard the screams and cries of their beloved ones. They do not even comprehend the damage they have caused".

" I can close my eyes and focus on my private grief as I have nothing left. I can keep going to the cemetery and remembering Jenya in my own personal way but it is not only about my pain but also the thought that the world is silent and that fact only can break one's heart."

"Nobody will bring my daughter back but I needed to know the world hears and remembers what happened .That is why we put so many efforts to make such a website and now the attack is on their memorial. "

Faina Dorfman is a close friend to me. She is also someone who always cared for children and people that suffered by the brutal hands of terrorism and I still remember Friday evenings at Faina's home when we organized support meetings for the injured and the bereaved, sat together, shared pain and thoughts on how to cope and try to go on with life.

I began my journey over 9 years ago to make sure the world knows the truth. The truth was never close to what was portrayed in the international news channels. The image people were exposed to by the media was always quite different from what we heard and experienced in our daily lives and reality.  It is my goal to make sure Faina's voice will be heard and Jeyna will be remembered. It is my purpose to make sure the world hears the tears of our mothers, sisters and brothers and ultimately our yearning for a better tomorrow for our children.

I created my website in 2001, israeltruth.com. I was a young girl hopeful that someday the world will open their eyes and acknowledge the truth. Later on, the world witnessed terrorism on a greater scale in many locations and continents but yet the silence remained. Maybe it comes from ignorance or maybe it's caused by fear to speak up but the sound that stands out above all other sounds remains silence. I still hope it will change someday

The message Faina and other bereaved families have encountered on the day of the cyber attack.  Today the memorial website developers try to restore the website and all its content. Dolfi.ru
